Breastfeeding Makes Your Baby Smarter

Effects On Intelligence:

There are many benefits from breastfeeding your children, and the list keeps growing.  A recent study published in the journal of pediatrics found that the more the child was breastfed in the first year of life, the higher the mental development at 14 months.

Additional benefits previously noted from breastfeeding for babies include reduced risk of otitis media (ear  infections), gastroenteritis (inflammation and pain in the intestines), respiratory illness, sudden infant death syndrome, necrotizing enterocolitis (death of intestinal tissue), obesity, hypertension and increased lung function. The benefits for mothers include reduced risk of breast and ovarian cancer, type 2 diabetes, and postpartum depression.

So the next time you see a baby being breastfed, just remember it’s natures way of engineering smarter kids!
